What habits or methods have you adopted from previous generations?
I inherited the method of improvizing recipes from my father and grandfather. I never saw either of them resort to a written recipe. They cooked to taste.
While I love the sponteneity of following whims and obeying my instinct — producing a meal that is a total expression of the moment — I decided to start writing for 2 reasons:
(1) So my most proudest achievements are repeatable, and
(2) To pass on to future generations, to enjoy and improve upon.
This blog is a great way for me to hone my skills in the kitchen by structuring and refining my techniques, and gaining feedback/insight from your comments and recommendations.
I also hope some of my posts touch or inspire you! Comments and recommendations are always welcome!
